Megatron creates the Constructicons, who steal more techno goodies to buildh his latest EI/AD, a strength transfer machine. Megs challenges Prime to a duel of champions, ala Cybertron law, with the loser leaving Earth. Prime accepts, and Megs transfers the powers and abilities of all other Decepticons into his frame. Meanwhile, the Con-cons tunnel into Mount Saint Hilary in an attempt to deactivate Teletran-1, which could detect the dishonesty in Megs' combat (Cybertron law prohibits enhancement or assistance in a battle of champions...) Megs beats the tar out of Prime, but that's OK, the Dinobots beat the tar out of the Con-cons until they form Devestator. Prime uncovers Megs' plot and blows all of the 'Cons into a lava pit. All in all, a wierd episode. For those of you who have just joined us, this episode is one of three that presents alternate origins for the Constructicons and Megatron. Either one created the other, vice versa, or they had independent existence. The argument will be presented at another time. Did you notice that Starscream was not the backstabbing miscreant he usually is? This episode painted him as a loyal second-in-command, who had the interests of all Decepticons in mind. I get the feeling that this episode was written by an old-fashioned cartoon writer (from the '60s) because all the bad guys die at the end, with the threatening "I'll be back" cliche at the end. That would also explain why all the powers were so oversold ("Reflector and Thundercracker must be proud...") Ever wonder why the Dinobots and the Constructicons were allowed to duke it out when the war was supposedly ended? Me too. "You wouldn't want to cheat, would you, Megatron?" "Me, Sludge, not see these Decepticons before." "And you not see again either..." KKC, deep in debt and still hasn't written his papers.
